This was our first Northern Trip as a group. Originally planned for Jo to have a big bike but was taking too long so he took the Suzuki Raider. For those that don't know the Suzuki Raider is a 150cc bike with a top speed around 120-130 kmph. Because it needed to refuel every 100km it took us close to 11 hours to get to Chiang Mai. Almost 3 hours more than what we normally take.
The next day had us riding to Nan which was a beautiful road but due to a miscalculation in timing, we ended up arriving at night.
This was the first time we stayed at Nan Seasons Resort where we ended up staying every time we been to Nan in the future.
For the third day we had a 4 hour (turned into 6 hour) ride to Pitsanulok. The first hour was amazing with twisty roads and no rain.
Things took a turn for the worst with Jo getting a nail puncture in his bike which required us to find a shop to get it patched. To make matters worse it started to rain that only got harder and harder all the way into Pitsanulok.
We ended up staying at Pitsanulok for 2 nights due to rain and needing some rest from all the rain the day before.
The ride back to Bangkok was uneventful as it's mostly just straights This was the First and Last North trip with Jo's Suzuki Raider. -- Pete
